I volunteered at the Grand Prix of Baltimore this weekend and shot a good bit. Here is a small sliver (many more to come, my first time shooting motorsports, so go easy!).

Wow your pics look really good. Especially compared to mine. What corner did you shoot most of your shots?

Thanks! I shot a good bit on the outside of turn one, but they kicked us out after the 911s started getting squirrely during the ALMS race. After that I shot between five and six. I also took some from the Light Street Bridge (where I was working).

Nice shots!
Also, perfectly appropriate to lead off with a pic of the safety car.

If you volunteer, do they let you volunteer with cameras (like DSLRs), because they do, I'm totally volunteering for events.

I'm sure it varies, but they didn't care that I had mine, as long as I did my job. I didn't take too many pictures while I was doing my shift (they let us do whatever after we were done), but I did have my camera out of my bag a good bit (we were allowed to have backpacks with us).
I shoot with an NEX-6 for reference.
